1. Chapter 1-Down Home by ladybugs26 [Comments - 2] (1619 words)

Down home, where they know you by name
And treat you like family
Down home, a man's good word and hand shake
Are all you need
Folks know if they're falling on hard times
They can fall back on
Those of us raised up down home

When I was a boy, I couldn't wait to leave this place
But now I want to see my children raised down home, down home

Folks know if they're falling on hard times
They can fall back on
Those of us raised up...

SONG: DOWN HOME
ARTIST: ALABAMA

2. Chapter 2-Where the Blacktop Ends by ladybugs26 [Comments - 2] (2192 words)

So, come on and give me some fresh air give me that farm
Give me some time with you in my arms
Far away from the hustle and the pressure and the noise

Gonna kick off my shoes
And run in bare feet
Where the grass and the dirt and the gravel all meet
Goin' back to the well gonna visit old friends
And feed my soul, you betcha

SONG: Where the Blacktop Ends
ARTIST: Keith Urban

3. Chapter 3-Life Goes On by ladybugs26 [Comments - 7] (1354 words)

Life goes on, and before too long,
You figure out you're right where you belong.
Its sad and Its sweet,
But if youre lucky it keeps goin'
On and on and on.

My momma always said:
That there'll be lessons that you learn,
but you dont need to know more right now.
But im learning as i go,
And the more i learn i know,
The less i wanna know any how.

SONG: Life Goes On
Artist: Terri Clark

4. Chapter 4 by ladybugs26 [Comments - 1] (1852 words)

And it's funny how it`s the simple things in life that mean the most
Not where you live, what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes
There`s no dollar sign on a piece of mind this I`ve come to know
So if you agree have a drink with me
Raise you glasses for a toast

To a little bit of chicken fried
Cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio up
Well I`ve seen the sunrise
See the love in my woman`s eyes
Feel the touch of a precious child
And know a mother`s love

SONG: Chicken Fried
ARTIST: Zac Brown Band

It's shorter than I wanted it to be, but it's getting late so I shortened it. Things will make some sense soon, I promise. :)

5. Chapter 5-County Fair by ladybugs26 [Comments - 2] (1737 words)

Every year when summer comes around
They stretch a banner 'cross the main street in town
You can feel somethin's happenin' in the air
Well, from Carol's house up on Telegraph Hill
You can see the lights going up out in Soldiers Field
Getting ready, for the county fair

County fair, county fair,
Everybody in town'll be there
So come on, hey we're goin' down there
(hey) Little girl with the long blond hair
Come win your daddy one of them stuffed bears
Baby, down at the country fair

SONG: County Fair
ARTIST: Bruce Springsteen

6. Chapter 6-All Summer Long by ladybugs26 [Comments - 3] (3409 words)

Splashing through the sand-bar, talking by the camp fire,
It's the simple things in life like when and where
We didn't have no internet but man I never will forget
The way the moon light shined upon her hair

And, we were trying different things we were smoking funny things
Making love out by the lake to our favorite song
Sipping whisky out the bottle not thinking bout tomorrow
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long

Catching walleye from the dock watching the waves roll off the rocks
She'll forever hold a spot inside my soul
We'd blister in the sun we couldn't wait for night to come
To hit that sand and play some rock and roll

SONG: All Summer Long
ARTIST" Kid Rock
