NaNoWriMo 2009 has come to a close! It was a very successful run, and got six new stories out of it!

I encourage anyone who even started a story to share it with the community here at NF... and if you're still feeling the burn, but didn'tfinish completely, there's NaNoFiMo-- National Novel FINISHING month!

NaNoWriMo is an annual event for writers, held from Nov 1 to Nov 30, where writers......write. The goal? A complete piece-- novel, story, what have you. Your minimum goal? 50.000 words.

Yeah, it sounds like a lot, until you get started... but really, it's about getting as close as you possibly can, before the end of the month.  Just. keep. writing.

The rules? Not many, but the most stringent is that your NaNo piece must be NEW. You cannot dredge up an old story and restart it or revamp it or continue it. BRAND NEW on November 1!

The goal? Write everyday. Write something everyday, don't worry about editing until it's done! 

Have an idea for something new? Burnt out on your current stories? Want to challenge yourself to write something longer, deeper, angstier, more romantic, more adventurous, about someone else? I think NaNo is calling your name! 

I'm thinking of starting a little NaNo group over at the StillNsync forums.  

POP!Tober is an *NSYNC Fiction writing challenge that runs from October 1-31.  It is short, COMPLETE, stories that POP! 

Rules
1. Obviously, the story needs to be about an *NSYNCer or the group. You can include anyone you want, as long as the main character is a member of *NSYNC

2. This works the same as Awesome August- a brand new story everyday. October 17th is Chris' birthday, so anyone who wants to write a Chris centric story is encouraged to sign up on that day. 

3. There is no length minimum or maximum, no genre limits, but your story must be COMPLETE by the end of your assigned day. 

4. I've included some prompts that you can use if you need a boost. If you use a prompt, please mark it in your story notes. Check the Stillnsync forum for the list of prompts! 

5. Signups are open September 1- September 30 or until the challenge is full.

It's HERE! Our Spring Challenge is locked and loaded and we're ready to hear from over 20 awesome *NSYNC-Fiction authors. The fun begings May 1! We still have a few slots open if you dare jump in!  

Here's how this works:

- On your designated day, post your story as normal. It's fine to post it piece by piece throughout the day, but PLEASE make sure it's COMPLETELY posted by the end of the day. 

- Come back to this challenge, click on "Respond to the Challenge" and choose the story you just posted. This links all of the entries together so people can read the It's Gonna Be May entries at once if they like.

- Enjoy your day of Pimping! We'll link to your story on twitter and encourage readers to come on by and read you.  

- Please read other author's work as time allows and take the time to drop them a line and let them know that you enjoyed it!

Right about NOW it's about that time! Awesome August is back, and it's bad. The rules are just as you remember them, nice and simple: 

* Stories must star an *NSYNCer as the main character.

* Any Genre is fine. Crossovers are a-okay.

* Stories must be COMPLETE by the end of your featured day.

* There is no length limit, but we ask that stories be at least 1,000 words. 

* You MUST post your story on your given day. If you will be unable to do so, PLEASE LET US KNOW so that we can fill your slot!

* Signups are open until the month fills up. At that point we may double up on some days, but not until the month is full.

* REMINDER/HINT: JC's Birthday is AUGUST 8th. Signups for that day are UNLIMITED. Anyone who wants to write a story featuring JC is welcome!

 Joining this challenge is easy as 1,2,3.   

1. Pick a day, any day in the month of August. Challengers are limited to TWO days for this challenge until we get closer to August 1 and need to fill up days.

2. Send your date of choice to us via email (awesomeaugust@nsync-fiction.com) or via twitter ( @nsync-fiction).

3. After the dates begin to populate, PLEASE VERIFY THAT WE HAVE SCHEDULED YOU AND THAT YOU ARE SCHEDULED TO POST ON THE CORRECT DATE.  Help us help YOU.

A lot of writers have expressed a desire to jump back into the fanfic world since the reappearance of our fave Fab Five. :) So here's a little something to put some AH! in your step! 

POP!Tober is an *NSYNC Fiction writing challenge that runs from October 1-31.  It is short, COMPLETE, stories that POP! 

It's TIME, NF! o/ 

I don't know about y'all but MY BODY IS READY for more Nsync-fiction. I know we're all a little (a lot) rusty, but we want to prime those pumps for our first big challenge of the year, AWESOME AUGUST! So, let's have a fun, low pressure event to kick off the summer and get some new stories on the archive. 

The one-shot challenge is just that... one shot. One scene, one complete story (or a grouping of stories). Max of 1000 words- no EPIC long tales, here. Stories must be complete when posted. You can have several chapters if you need them, but the point is to keep it short, nice and easy. 

Post as many as you like! Remember to:

1. Abide by the #1 rule at NF- This is NSYNC fiction, so stories must center at least one member of NSYNC

2. Add your story to this challenge so they're grouped together.

3. Read other stories and leave an encouraging comment- let authors know you're reading them and enjoy their stories.

4. Let us know when you've posted by tagging us at @nsyncfiction on twitter, facebook or instagram (also follow/friend us because we're cool).

This challenge runs thru July 15th so that we have a little break before Awesome August. *

AUTHORS! We are officially OPEN for POP!tober business! 

The usual rules apply-:

This is *NSYNCfiction, so your story must prominently feature a member of *NSYNC, but crossovers are GREAT. 

Your story must be COMPLETE by the end of the challenge. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you end up not finishing, we'll remove it from the challenge. People who read the collection should be able to read complete stories. 

Remember that POP!Tober stories are fun, happy, UP tales featuring *NSYNC. Please don't add deathfic or stories with sad endings to this challenge, though you're always welcome to post your work on the archive in general.
