Author's Chapter Notes:

I may not always love you

But as long as there are stars above you

You never need to doubt it

I'll make you so sure about it

God only knows what I'd be without you

Beach Boys - God Only Knows

"Psst, baby," JC whispered, placing his lips against her temple, kissing a few times over and over. "Wake up."

Sam fluttered her eyes open and moaned softly. "Baby..." she mumbled. "What's wrong?" As her eyes adjusted to the dim light of the room, the faintest bit of sunlight was streaming in through the blackout curtains. JC was grinning near her face.

"Hi," he smiled, nuzzling his face against hers. "Good morning sleeping beauty."

"What time is it?" she yawned, stretching a little bit next to him.

"It's 6:30," he smiled, running his finger tips down along her curves.

"6:30," she repeated, yawning. "Why are we awake?"

"We have an adventure to go on," he grinned proudly. "And we need to be ready by 7."

"An adventure," she mumbled, yawning again. "If you didn't keep me awake until 1:00 with your own adventure last night this wouldn't feel so bad," she laughed sleepily. "Okay, okay."

He sat up, looking down at her. "This isn't fancy," he smiled, "I talked to the concierge yesterday while you were in the shower and we're taking a Jeep tour of the island today. We're going to see everything. I wanted to be a tourist with you today."

She smiled up at him with sleepy eyes. "Josh, why are you always so damn thoughtful," she laughed softly, sitting up. "I'll be ready in a few minutes."

He grinned, leaning down to scoop her up in his arms. "We can save a few minutes and shower together. I promise I'll be good." He laughed all low, carrying her into the bathroom. He sat her down on the counter while he started the shower up. "One of our first stops is a local cafe to pick up some breakfast. So that will be all taken care of." He looked over at her, still naked from the night before on the counter and it made him grin.

"Of course it's taken care of," she smirked, hopping off the counter. "My man takes care of it all, why would I ever guess anything different." She walked over to him and smiled, giving his butt a playful smack before she walked under the hot spray of the shower.

He let out a playful grunt as he followed her in. "You know I was just gonna carry you in mama," he grinned. "But you had to go and take the lead." He reached behind him and gave her a playful smack in return.

"You!" Her squeal was soft and she grabbed a washcloth from the rack. "So do I get anymore information about this Jeep adventure?" she asked, putting some body wash on as she let the suds cover her body.

He bit at his lip, watching her wash herself up. He knew he needed to be good this morning and the showering together was for the sake of time, not so he could devour her like he wanted to. "It's gonna be an all day adventure," he grinned, "Like full on through sunset. I told you, I wanted to be a tourist with my baby." He let his hair get wet and shampooed it as he watched her. "Another experience to add to our book."

"Oooh," she grinned, letting the water rinse all of the coconut scented body wash off of her. "I can get behind this idea." She grabbed the hair tie around her wrist and pulled her hair up into a loose bun so she wouldn't get her hair too wet. She knew she was going to be putting on a baseball hat for their adventures and didn't need to wash it. "Beach time too right?"

"Beach time too," he grinned, "We've got it all covered."

"Mmm," she stepped over to him and smiled at the water running down his body. "You're always thinking of me," she said softly. She let her hands run over his chest and down his stomach leaving her hands resting there gently. "If I don't tell you enough, I appreciate all of that." She leaned in and placed a soft kiss on his lips before pulling away and stepping out of the shower. She too knew how easily they could distract each other in the shower and needed to keep moving to keep them on time. She wrapped the soft, white towel around her body after drying off.

JC let out a grunt. "You make it so damn hard to stay focused!" He called out after her, laughing a little bit as he shut off the water stream then stepped out of the shower himself, drying off as he watched her.

At exactly 7 AM, JC was leading Samantha out the front door of the hotel, holding her hand. He was in a grey tank top with a surfboard on it and a pair of green hawaiian print board shorts. His aviators were on and he was all grins. Next to him, Samantha was wearing his LA Dodgers hat over pigtail braids. She was wearing a pair of jean shorts over a black bikini and a white ribbed tank top. She was smiling herself, loving how excited JC was to surprise her.

"Aloha Mr. Chasez," the guide said. He was a middle aged man with a long beard, standing next to a red Jeep Wrangler with the top off. "Good morning Ms. Bentley. My name is Marcus. Welcome to your Jeep tour of our island."

"Aloha Marcus," JC grinned,  "Please, call me JC. We're just JC and Sam today," he said, helping Sam into the back of the Wrangler. "We're excited to spend the day with you."

Sam waved and fixed the hat on her head. "Aloha Marcus. This is going to be amazing! Oh my goodness." She looked around. "Josh! Eep."

The Wrangler pulled out from the resort and headed along the coast toward a small town.
"Your first stop is Paia Town," Marcus said, pulling the Jeep in front of a small coffee shop. "JC said you both like a good cup of coffee. I recommend the Maui coffee in here." He nodded toward the small coffee shop in front of them, "And some scones or banana bread. You can watch the mountains here in this park. We'll take off when you two have eaten." He smiled.

"Oh excellent, c'mon baby," JC rubbed his hands together as he got out of the Jeep then helped Sam out of the back. They walked inside of the coffee shop and he stood behind her with a smile as they waited at the counter.

"Aloha," the woman said, nodding to the both of them. "What would you like this morning?"

"Ohhh umm," Sam said, laughing softly. "Our driver told us to try the Maui coffee and the scones and the banana bread. Josh?" She looked over her shoulder at him behind her. "Do you want to order one of each and we can share?"

"Sounds good to me," he smiled. "We'll have two large Maui coffees please and an orange cranberry scone and let's do a whole loaf of the banana bread please. To go. Mahalo." He slipped his credit card on the counter to pay, smiling. Her skin smelled like coconuts and he placed a soft kiss along her neck.

She giggled softly, stepping with him to the side to wait for their coffees and breakfast. "It smells heavenly here," she mumbled, watching the workers grinding the coffee beans for their coffee and run it through a French press. "Ohhh wow."

"Oh this is gonna be some good breakfast," JC sighed happily, rocking her back and forth in his arms to the traditional music playing in the cafe.

"Your breakfast is ready," the woman said, holding out the two coffee cups and bag with their pastries.

"Mahalo," JC nodded, taking everything and then taking Sam's hand. "Have a wonderful day."

He led her back out onto the main street and saw their red jeep parked in front of the beach about a block away. They walked the short walk to the park, a small patch of rocks leading to at least a mile of pale sand and turquoise blue waters. "Now this is gorgeous," he said, in awe.  He found a long, flat rock and he sat down with her. "Mmm, time for coffee," he mumbled appreciatively.

"Now this is a way to wake up. Wow." She took her cup of coffee from him. "Look at the way the sun is finishing coming up." She took her first sip of coffee and made a satisfied moan.

JC grinned next to her, taking his first sip of coffee as well. "Mmm. Yes."

They sat quietly, sharing their scone and banana bread and taking thoughtful sips of their coffee as the waves crashed against the beach and the sun began to shine down on their faces.

JC turned to look at Sam after he wiped some crumbs from the corners of his mouth. "That was amazing."

She wrapped the rest of the loaf of the banana bread back in the plastic wrap and tucked it back into the little paper bag. "Snacks for later," she grinned. "This was amazing. Oh my goodness."

He stood up and held out his hand for her. As they walked back to the Jeep, he tossed their empty coffee cups in the garbage and helped her back into the backseat of the car. "Our next stop awaits," he smiled, placing a soft kiss on her lips.

The Wrangler took off down the highway, curving along against the coast. The roads were narrow but the views were spectacular. Sam snuggled up to his arm, glancing at the scenery all around her.

A half hour later, their Jeep pulled up under a sign that read Garden of Eden. JC's eyes grew wide and he couldn't help but giggle. "BABY! LOOK! It's the spot from the opening scene from Jurassic Park, I love that movie."

"Josh," she laughed, "You're like a little kid. This is adorable."

He got out of the Jeep in a hurry, pulling her out after him. "Let's explore." He grabbed a map from the kiosk and he led her down the pathway. The lush palm trees and rocks were all around them as well as lush botanical gardens.

"Oh wow," she said, looking all around them. "This place is so quiet. It doesn't even feel like anyone else is here."

"They usually get busier after noon," JC said, "The concierge said that's why the Jeep tours like to leave at 7. They give you a chance to enjoy things at your own pace without worrying about people."

They moseyed along the path way, stopping at the flowers to read about each different kind. JC couldn't help but smile and take pictures of Samantha next to each little garden section, stopping and taking some pictures of them together with the camera too. He wanted to capture these memories, something for the two of them to remember.

"Oh, baby... look, a waterfall!" Sam pointed at the guide map. "Puohokamoa Falls. Can we check it out too?"

"Of course," he smiled, "Anything you want." He looked down at the map in her hands as they began to walk along through the more deeply forested gardens. The sounds of the birds filled their senses as the faintest sound of rushing water began to take over.

Through the vegetation came a rocky cliff with a beautiful waterfall that fell into a pool in the middle of the rocks and plants. No one else was around and the vibe was calm and relaxed.

"Oh!" her eyes were bright. "Josh this is beautiful."

He looked over at her as they stood looking up at the waterfall. "You know," his voice was soft, "I have said this so many times, but if I hadn't asked you to marry me already, I probably would be down on one knee right now. Look at this place, Samantha."

She grinned. "You would have probably needed to know this was here first," she giggled softly.

"Honestly even if I didn't," he laughed, "I probably would have just made up my mind even if I didn't have a ring with me. This is like paradise."

She leaned in and placed a soft kiss on his lips. "You wanna jump off it with me?" Her eyes sparkled.

"Didn't you just yell at me about jumping off of a tree limb in Big Bear a few weeks ago?" he smirked, bringing his hand to her face.

"The tree limb could have snapped. This is a waterfall. It's not going to break." She grinned. "You can tell me it's a bad idea and I'll get it out of my head," she poked his side gently.

"Like I'm ever going to discourage a little adventure..." he grinned, letting his lips move from her cheek down along her jaw. "As long as you hold my hand when we jump in." He made a playful nip at her skin.

Her giggle was soft and thoughtful. "Mmmm. Of course. I wasn't planning on holding anyone else's hand. Let's do it, baby!"

JC grinned and gave one more suck on her neck and another light kiss before he stood up. "I bet there's a path up the side. Let's leave our stuff here on this ledge so when we swim out it'll be waiting for us." He pulled his tank top and aviators off, leaving his wallet and keys underneath in a little pile. He knew the spot was just out of sight enough and no one else was around.

He licked his lips as he watched her shimmy out of her shorts and tank top, leaving her sunglasses and his Dodgers hat next to his pile. "I'm ready!" she called out happily, leaving her flip flops in the pile.

JC laughed with delight. Watching her grow even more adventurous with him had been one of his favorite parts of their relationship. He took her hand again. "Always ready for you. And if I didn't tell you this morning, that bathing suit... damn, babydoll, you're slaying in it." He bit his lip. "I may need to walk behind you."

"You can admire the back anytime you want," she laughed softly, stopping at the base of the rocks to steal one more kiss. "I'm all yours."

They began to climb along the worn path up the side of the rocks. The path had been traveled many times before and wasn't too steep. He was a few steps behind her, watching out that she was walking safely. He sucked in a good breath, feeling a feeling of contentment wash over him. This was another thing they were doing that just felt so damn normal. Nothing like the lavash private party of the night before, or the chartered jet that had taken them to Maui. There was something he continued to crave about the normalcy she gave him.

"I think this kind of thing was easier in sneakers," she turned around to look at him when they had almost reached the top. "Thankfully it's not slippery yet."

His voice broke him of his thoughtful state of mind and he smiled. "Not yet. And that's true, hiking is much easier in the right shoes, baby. But I'll just say the view from back here is top notch," his laugh was low.

"Of course it is Josh," she laughed softly as they climbed over one last rock and were at the top of the fall. His arm immediately went around her waist and he pulled her close. The light stream of the waterfall was coming out of the rocks behind them and he looked at her with a smile.

"We made it baby," he grinned, leaning in to crash his lips to hers. Something about the climb and having her there with him made him crave that closeness. She grinned against his lips and sucked his lips in for a good long moment.

"I love you, Joshua Scott," she smiled, pulling away from his lips to look at his dancing blue eyes.

"I love you most, Samantha," his voice was soft but strong. "I'm the luckiest."

She looked out at the rock pool beneath them and at the ocean in the distance. "I could say that about myself too," she nodded, resting her forehead against his once more. "Let's take this leap together before I change my mind," she laughed softly.

"We can take any leap together, babydoll," he offered her a smile. "Now hold onto my hand. We'll take the jump on my count of 3... okay?"

She nodded, standing next to him and reaching for his hand. "Let's do it Josh!"

JC counted them in. "One... two... and THREE!" He bent his knees and looked over to see her doing the same, and they both went up in the air together. He felt them rising and seconds later they were plunging down the waterfall together, hand in hand. He had never felt so free and open in his entire life. The feeling of being weightless but connected to her made him start to laugh just before they crashed down into the water. Moments later they both popped up and he grabbed her, pulling her in for a passionate kiss. Both of his hands went to her face as he sucked on her lips over and over, hungry for more.

He was met with her gasp before she returned his kiss, wrapping her legs around his waist. He let out an appreciative hum, breaking the kiss to look into her eyes. "I fucking love you woman," he mumbled, shaking his head slightly.

She smiled, bringing her forehead to his. "You're the only person in this world I'd trust with my life that way," her voice was almost breathless.

He growled lightly, beginning to swim slightly toward the opposite side of the rock pool. "Ughhh. Yes." He lifted her out of the water and placed her in a little grassy alcove hidden by a rock. "You can always trust Daddy," his voice was low and gravely. "How much do you trust me now?" He grinned, looking down at her before he knelt down next to her.

"Hmm?" She looked up at him and saw the mischief dancing in his eyes. He licked his lips and leaned in to kiss her again, sucking her lips into his before releasing them again. "Ohhh," she grinned. "You know, Mr. Chasez, you're going to need to be direct with what you want."

"This tease game of yours is adorable Ms. Bentley," he smirked, letting his thumb stroke against her cheek. "I want you. Here in this little alcove. With only the sound of the waterfall and nature around us. Mhmm."

Her lips curled up into a smile. "You're trouble. That's what you are, Joshua Scott Chasez," she smiled, pulling him down next to her. "But the best kind of trouble."

"You bring it out in me, baby," he grinned, pressing his hips against hers. "You feel that? All you."

"Mmmm, guess we should jump off of waterfalls more often," she said, making a soft hum of appreciation for the feel of him.

"Mmm, could also be the fact that I got to watch my favorite ass climb some rocks," he leaned in and brushed his lips against hers, "And I've told you before, you get me going any time and any place. Mmhmm." He made small circles with his hips against hers, feeling the friction between their two suits. "Now we're both wearing too much."

He reached down and untied the side of her bottoms, letting them fall and stay tied to one leg. He made quick work of his shorts, pulling them down to his ankles. "So much better," he mumbled, leaning back down against her to place a soft kiss on her lips.

She arched her back slightly and whispered,, "Always better when you're with me."

JC couldn't help but give her a soft smile as his eyes roamed her body. He let himself push her hair away from her face as he pressed his hips down onto hers again.

She made a soft noise when she felt him against her skin. "Ohh, Josh." Her eyes fluttered closed.

He let his hand reach down and take her fingers, locking them before pulling it over her head. He leaned down and just as his nose touched hers, he rolled his hips so it took one soft, fluid motion for him to be inside of her. It wasn't rushed, it was just perfect. He couldn't speak, but only make a low moan of approval.

Her moan was low and matched his. As his hips stilled, she was relishing in the way he filled her up, with only the sound of the waterfall behind them, her lips found his and they opened and closed in a slow kiss.

JC's eyes made a squinty shut motion because his heart was having so many feels, her lips on his that way made him crazy every time. He slipped the hand not holding hers to lift her up at the hips so he could pull out and slip back in just a little deeper, wanting to fill her completely. "Ohhh..."

Her moan was soft as she whispered in a heated rush, "Ohhh Josh. You feel so good to me.... Yes." Her face contorted a bit as she adjusted to his new rhythm and depth and her words disappeared off into a whispered moan.

He nudged his face against hers a bit so his lips moved from her cheek to her ear and he let out a moan as he pulled and thrusted, then again, and again. The feeling of being with her was his favorite in the world and he wanted to be in the moment as long as he could. "Ohhh baby."

She began to feel like she was floating, the warmth of the late morning sun, the water around them and the sound of the birds made her senses even more heightened. He had every nerve of hers on 10. The way he was working her body felt unreal, and it was almost impossible to tell who started and ended where. "Ohhh!" It was evident in her voice that she was getting pushed to the edge with every pass.

He felt her body tense up and how her legs were moving against his, knowing that she was close. He kept his lips near her ear as he breathed, moaning against it. "You're mine baby... always." He sucked in a breath and quickened his hips just a little, but not harder. "Ohhhh yes."

"C'mon baby," she let her feet get tangled with his as they moved slowly. She was completely lost in him and never wanted to go back. "Ohhh Josh... OH." Her moan turned into a whimper against his face.

He heard her whimper and about lost it there, just knowing he made her feel that way and he was making her feel as good as he felt was so much of what he needed from time to time. "Ohhh baby. Yes.... I'm..." he whispered as he lifted her hips enough to get more of a tilted angle. "Coming..." He felt his release begin and crash over his body in a slow wave with a moan of her name.

Her breath caught in her throat as she felt her body let go seconds after he reached his peak and her toes curled underneath her with a satisfied moan. She let the rush take over as he rode out every last glorious drop of his climax until he collapsed into a heap on top of her body.

The Jeep drove them for the next several hours from one stop to the next, several overlooks, a cave, 4 more waterfalls, each met with a smirk after the adventure at the first waterfall, finally coming to a stop at a beach in Hana town just as the sun was setting.

JC smiled, helping her out of the Jeep. "Our final stop," he said softly, with a smile. "Picnic dinner overlooking the ocean."

Sure enough, waiting for them in front of the Jeep was a picnic basket and a blanket.

She looked at him with wonder in her eyes. "I'm not even going to keep asking how the hell you do this," she laughed, shaking her head. She leaned over and brushed her lips against his cheek. "I love you for it. You always take care of the little, and not so little things for me."

He took her hand, and grabbed the picnic basket in the other. They walked along the path from the parking lot down to the beach, where he dropped her hand to spread out the picnic blanket. Ahead of them, the sun was just beginning to set with the volcanos and mountains as the backdrop.

She settled down on the picnic blanket, kicking off her flip flops, watching as he settled and did the same. He reached into the basket and pulled out a sparkling white wine and popped the cork. He poured it into two plastic cups. He grinned. "I didn't think wine glasses would work well in the sand so I had them give us plastic cups," he laughed.

"Doesn't matter," she laughed softly, "Thanks baby. This works just right." She clinked her glass against his and took a sip. "Mmm. So sweet. Yum."

He rummaged through the basket and pulled out some cheese and crackers and fruit. "I thought we could snack a bit and get a late night snack when we got back to our hotel. Hopefully that works for you."

She smiled. "Anything works, Josh. I've enjoyed getting to spend my day with you today. Just you and I... paradise. I have zero complaints." She took a piece of pineapple from the plate and nibbled on it. "Ashley and Justin brought us here and still we got to celebrate us."

"Yeah, well, it's not always about them," JC grumbled cutely, looking at her with a smile. "We don't need an excuse to celebrate our love."

"You know," she popped a grape and put it in her mouth, "I know that you broke up with Kat because of her psycho cheating tendencies. I don't know that I know why Justin and Ashley broke up the first time around. All I got out of her was that your careers were crazy and she ended up sleeping with the millionaire investor that helped her launch the clothing line."

"Oh right," JC chuckled, "Don't say his name around Justin. That's like the number one rule of Justin Timberlake land."

Sam giggled. "I won't. Never again, lips are zipped."

JC laughed and took a sip of his wine. "After Kat cheated, a lot of the people that worked with us stopped trusting the women in the circle. Ashley was talked about a lot especially given the two girls arrived as a package deal in the beginning. As you know they were friends when they met us at the show backstage. The label and some of the staff started to cause a rift between the two of them. And you know the passion that's there. It was like a firestorm. Anyways, Justin and Ashley started to fight. A LOT. And Justin wasn't always the easiest boyfriend, but Ashley wasn't always the easiest girlfriend. They were engaged for a few months before the tension just got so thick. And eventually... one day the fighting came to a head. He let her go her own way... and honestly it broke the kid's heart. But he never went running after her, just continued to pine after her. But he never stopped loving her and he realized he needed to man up and go after her again. And that's just what he did. I guess it was the right timing that they were brought together by your fashion show you were in. It brought me you too," He pushed the hair from her face. "And that, by far, is the most important part of this story."

"Oh I'm so appreciative that it happened," she took a sip of her wine before popping another grape in her mouth, "I was just curious. But that explains why he's going extra big this time around."

"Their first proposal took place in Italy," JC smiled softly. "I helped him plan it all out in a vineyard in Tuscany. Paper lanterns and tealights and all. It was pretty damn romantic," he nodded. "I had thought romance was a crock of shit at that point but for my boy it was worth it. And it definitely helped me formulate the plan I had for you. It all came together so naturally when it clicked for me."

She leaned back on one hand, watching him with a smile. "I don't think I could have asked for a more amazing wedding proposal. So thanks to Justin for inspiring that in you way back when," she giggled softly.

"It was all you being my muse," his lips pursed together as he watched her. "Every artist needs a muse, and you've been mine since pretty much day one. I was smitten and those damn songs started coming out again."

"I'll gladly take being your muse any day of the week, love," she replied, taking another sip of her wine. "Especially when you decide to get artistic by a waterfall," her voice trailed off with a giggle.

JC's laugh was low. "I'll never forget this trip to Hawaii, that's for sure." He leaned over and placed his lips against her temple. She smiled, shifting her weight to lean into his body and relish in his kisses. She was powerless to his displays of affection, melting into him.
